North American Poker Tour to be Hosted by PokerStars
Published on 10 Jan 2010 by ReturnMyRake
Though a huge number of poker players and poker fans reside in North America, the amount of attention this part of the world actually receives from PokerStars is rather diminutive. However, PokerStars – the biggest poker site in the net – has decided to brave the elements and host a North American Poker Tour this January.
The Newest in the Family of Poker Tours
It’s very unusual for North America to be bypassed when it comes to poker tournaments. But the sad truth is that those PokerStars players who live in the US and Canada usually have to travel to other places like Europe and the Bahamas just so they can enter some of the biggest poker tours. All we have known so far is the EPT, LAPT, APPT, and others. The US has been sadly ignored by Pokerstars until now.
This time, PokerStars is determined to make its mark on North American soil by hosting the North American Poker Tour which will begin this January 20, 2010. Joanna Krupa will be the on-screen host for the whole event. The NAPT will run through the whole North American Continent, from the classic Las Vegas to the coasts of Connecticut, and much further. They won’t be without competition, however, as they will have to contend with the popularity of the long standing World Poker Tour and the WSOP Circuit. These two tournament circuits have already entrenched themselves within North American soil and in fact, their plans for 2010 are already well established. PokerStars is nothing if not formidable, and it’s almost certain that they can truly make their NAPT stand out.
A Highly Anticipated Event
The NAPT is already being quite highly anticipated in the whole North American region. Daniel Negreanu, a famous poker pro, has commented on PokerStars’ new plan and said that he’s really looking forward to it. He further went on to praise what PokerStars has achieved in the EPT, LAPT, APPT and the other poker tours. He says he’s very excited to see them in Las Vegas.
If Negreanu feels this way, then surely others do so as well. Joe Cada and Vanessa Rousso are among those who are particularly eager to participate. This might also be a good chance of finding some new talents in America, especially those who don’t have enough money to join the Poker Tours outside of the US.
