2010 Marks Big Changes in Full Tilt

Being second best is something that’s great but not quite. It falls short of true triumph, and leaves a profound sense of loss. This is, perhaps, the reason why Full Tilt Poker is more than determined to ‘up the ante’ this coming 2010. They’re implementing huge changes that will totally change the face of the site, the most notable of them being the increase in the price of buy-ins – a strategy aimed at eradicating the surge of members who practice ‘rat-holing’.
Rat-infested
The past year was a rather good one for the leading poker site in the net, PokerStars. Their members’ preferences seemed to shift towards the rooms with the higher buy-ins, creating a better overall atmosphere. The opposite, however, happened in Full Tilt. Full Tilt’s strategy was to provide rooms which required smaller buy-ins, so that more people would be encouraged to play. However, this only gave rise to the phenomenon called ‘rat-holing’, in which the players would leave the room when they win a large pot, and re-enter with only the minimum buy-in once again. For example, a player buys into a game for just $10. Then, he manages to win $50. He will then leave the room, leave the money in his pocket, and then reenter the room with $10 again. This is a highly unethical practice, and many poker sites disallow it. This practice, however, runs rampant in Full Tilt.
Pest-Control
But Full Tilt aims to change that. They are going to combat ratholing by increasing the minimum buy-in on the standard tables. They’re going to implement this change early in 2010, which would give them ample time to see how their new system works. That’s not the only thing they plan to do, however. Full Tilt also plans to add some new features. Exiting a room or a table now entails a new 2-click feature. And when you choose a seat, a message prompt will appear, asking if you ‘want to take the seat’. These features should minimize the number of people who engage in rat-holing, and hopefully bring Full Tilt up to par with Pokerstars and the PokerStars Bonus Code.
They’re also going to implement some changes to their VIP system. There still isn’t any concrete information as to what exactly these changes are going to be. But rumors say that a new VIP program will be introduced a few months from now. Never-the-less, remember to use the best Full Tilt Referral Code.
Indeed, Full Tilt seems determined to outdo their rival site, but only time will tell if they will be able to succeed.
